Solas Dart Game

For this game we have used a velcro dart game from IKEA and I put labels on the board with each of Luther's 5 Solas.

1. Sola Fide: Only Faith

2. Sola Gratia: Only Grace

3. Sola Scriptura: Only Scripture

4. Sola Christus: Only Christ

5. Soli Deo Gloria: Only God's Glory

They have to get all 5 Solas before they get their treat; a Diet of Worms. I have baggies of gummy worms that have written on the bag "Diet of Worms." This is a punny way for them to remember that when Luther started printing things about what he had discovered in God's Word, the church and state united to put him on trial. God provided a way of escape for him, and will always working things for our benefit.

I find that the repetition of aiming for the targets on the dart board helps the kids to retain the 5 Solas better. They are required to get all 5 Solas before their prize but they don't usually have a limit on the number of shots. The 5 Solas will later be reinforced by the Luther Rose craft.
